Flåm with its unique surroundings of fjords and mountains can offer different activities nearby. This is the perfect place for anyone who loves the mountains, sea sides and nature, but also cultural highlights on the historic Flåm Railway.
The Flåm Railway brings you from the Myrdal Plateau down to the fot of the Flåm Valley. This is a journey of 20 km where almost 6 km go through tunnels. There is a height difference of 865,5 m and 55.6 ‰. 18 out of the 20 tunnels where made by hand, and it took a whole month to excavate just 1 m.
With the Flåm Railway you get on a unique train journey. If you are interested you can also visit the old station building, now a museum of historic Norwegian railway treasures.

The Nærøyfjord which is an arm of the Sognefjord, is located in Aurland. It can offer you spectacular experiences of the nature, fjord and mountains up to 1761 m above sea level. In 2005 the Nærøyfjord together with the Geirangerfjord was added to the UNESCO world heritage list.

Stegastein is a view point located at 640 m above Aurland and the fjord. It was opened in 2006 as part of the National Tourist Road. The platform reaches 31 m out of the mountain on the edge down to the fjord with a spectecular panoramic view.
Fjordsafari offers a guided tour from the Aurlandsfjord to the Nærøyfjord in RIB boats. This is a unique way to get closer to nature and wild life.
